Some couples come into wedding planning with a crystal clear vision. Ally & Sean came in with something a little more vulnerable: ideas they cared deeply about, but were hesitant to fully share because they didn’t want to feel judged or misunderstood.

As illustrators and lifelong creatives, Ally & Sean were not looking for a standard wedding photographer, or generic wedding photos. They wanted someone who could step into their world creatively.
Sean also works professionally in photography, so finding the right Calgary based wedding photographer mattered deeply to them.
They wanted someone who could help creatively direct ideas while still keeping everything emotionally grounded and authentic to who they are.
What started as conversations about engagement photos quickly turned into collaborative brainstorming sessions filled with ideas, symbolism, references, stories, and creative possibilities.
They loved that I had previously photographed D&D-inspired and cinematic concept shoots, because it made them feel safe bringing their own ideas to the table instead of trying to fit themselves into a traditional wedding mold.

One of the things that mattered most to Ally & Sean was having a photographer who could also act as a creative director. They wanted someone who could help shape ideas collaboratively while still making the experience feel natural and honest. The phone calls we had together leading up to their wedding day made a huge difference in ensuring their vision came to life.
By the time the wedding day arrived, it genuinely felt less like “clients and photographer” and more like friends fully comfortable being themselves around each other.
That trust allowed us to create photos that felt artistic, emotional, cinematic, and deeply personal all at once.
Their wedding day itself was equally meaningful, and was filled with cultural traditions, blended family dynamics, and intentional ways of honouring loved ones who could not physically be there with them. Every detail carried weight.
The result was a wedding gallery that feels creative without trying too hard, emotional without feeling staged, and deeply reflective of the people at the center of it all.
